When we opened our new shop in February 2018, we were able to start fresh, restructuring our business from the ground up to serve you better.
Prior to our current location, we spent 15 years in a Free Mason designed building erected in 1913. It is the only place outside of downtown that has purple sidewalk prisms, too. Our old shop has been many things over the years: grocery store, convenience store, bait & tackle shop, the Red Mango restaurant, and more.
As all things do, the building was nearing the end of it's life and, if push came to shove, we didn't want to be out on the street. This led to our serendipitous relocation to our new home in Larsen Music.
Our current location was built in the 50’s and was a Church of God until 2005, when John Larsen bought it and opened the fabulous Larsen Music store. Now, as the third owners, we are blessed to be snuggled more deeply with our North Park & Fernwood neighbours!
When we started out in 2003, just after my second daughter was born, we had no clue what we were doing. Now, more than 20 years later, we feel like we have the hang of it! Our love of the shop, what we do, and how we support our community grows each and every year. We're super-grateful.
Of course, we couldn't have done it without our amazing staff and all of the wonderful customers who have left their mark on our shop.
Thanks for coming along for the ride with us!
Joe
